What is oral cancer?

Cancer is a neoplasm that could occur in any part of the mouth – the lips, cheeks, surface of the tongue, the tonsils, and also the salivary glands – is called oral cancer. Most cancers originate as squamous cell carcinomas emerging in the intraoral part at the tongue or on the lip. It manifests as an indurated and chronic ulcer with a multifactoral etiology which is very resonant of lifestyle, habits and diet. As one of the oldest forms of treatment of cancer, surgery has a major role in the testing, diagnosis and staging of oral cancer.
